Geri Whaley-Ewers, owner of Languages by Geri, has been teaching courses in English, Spanish and French since 1987.  In 1999, she decided to open her own corporate language consulting business.  As a consultant, she has designed and taught Business English and Spanish language programs at many corporations.

Previously, Geri was an Adjunct Faculty member at Gwinnett Technical Institute (now Gwinnett Technical College) for eleven years, where she taught ESL (English as a Second Language) and Cultural Diversity.  While at Gwinnett Tech, she also served as Lead Instructor for a Spanish program through the Continuing Education Department.

Geri was hired as a consultant to teach a one-year ESL program at GOETHE INSTITUTE.  Ms. Whaley was also engaged in teaching US CULTURE and English conversation to a group of French students at l’Alliance Francaise of Atlanta.

Geri Whaley-Ewers was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala and has lived in the USA for over twenty-five years.  She came to this country as Social Attache to the Guatemalan Embassy in Washington D.C.  Marriage took her to Chicago, Illinois and eventually to Atlanta, Georgia.  Geri studied Tourism and Public Relations at the Catholic University “Rafael Landivar” in Guatemala City.  In the United States, she attended Wright College and Loyola University in Chicago.  Later, in Georgia, Geri was a student at Agnes Scott College, Georgia State University and University of Georgia.  She holds a B.A. in French, with a concentration in Literature and has done graduate work in Adult Education.  In addition, she has attended Business seminars at Emory Center for Life Long Learning.  She is a member of l’Alliance Francaise, where she has taken workshops for French teachers.  Ms. Whaley has also studied Italian, Japanese and German language and culture.
